nervous for perinatal visit
« on: July 16, 2012, 01:28:53 am »
My name is Renee. I am a happy momma of 4 with one more little blessing on the way. But.... I had my tubes tied 2 years ago after the birth of number 4. So this was quite unexpected. Baby #4 came a month and two days early but should have come five days before that because that was when my water started leaking. So now I have to see a high risk specialist... I am 28 weeks and have been having bh everyday for weeks now. I am scared she will come early and more afraid of what the doctor is going to tell me. Anyone have any words of advice?

I am high risk too, b'cuz of preterm labor, pre-eclampcia, IUGR, & placenta abruption. I see a perinatologist too and mine actually works with a team so I don't always see the same one but they communicate well and at every visit I see a can for all vitals, a nurse questions/concerns, an OB physician for baby measurements test and updates, and my perinatologist (specialist) for all serious issues... aka the reason for all the tests any precautionary procedures and and to wrap up all the info gathered at each visit. Also the visits are on average every 2 weeks. I think the most important thing for you to feel comfortable with them. This is my sixth (defying all the odds of protection against pregnancy).  Good luck to you and God bless.

Thank you. I think I'm just  nervous that she will see signs of early labor.  I appreciate your reassurances tho! Congrats on number 6 and best wishes to you too!
