Oh goody...
« on: December 06, 2013, 02:16:43 am »
Only place I have to post... I have a jaw/tooth infection. They gave me Tylenol with codeine and an antibiotic but I am in pain. I'm going to end up losing all of my back upper teeth on one side, two on the the bottom on the same side and three on the other side. I'll have to be put under for the surgery because of how deep the roots are and how many teeth are being removed.

Moral? Don't ignore tooth pain while pregnant.

And get vicodin and ibuoprofin 600. I only had one with the infection and it was painful as Hell.

The antibiotic is cephalexin. I'm allergic to almost everything else. Lol! I don't know why they didn't give me ibuprofen though. Hopefully the antibiotic takes care of it fast. I was kind of hoping the Tylenol would make Hazel drowsy too but no such luck :P

Talk to your midwife. If dentist knows you're pregnant they won't do anything that'll hurt the baby.

Oh poor girl. You don't here about it much but our teeth and gums are extremely sensitive when preggo. We supposed to go to the dentist. I waited til my 8th month and had 5 cavities. I haven't ever had a cavity before and I got them all in under a year.

@mommy2be, you can get dental work done while you're preggo. Just make sure to tell the dentist you are.

@rooney. Duh me. I bet you can't take ibuprofin while breastfeeding. Are you allergic to penicillin too?

@Walt idk why they didn't give it to her. They gave me ibuprofen after I had Matthew, and they knew I was bfing.  Hmm...? Strange.

I had ibuprofen for my csection, it wasn't helping my teeth though. Luckily the antibiotics seem to be kicking in today so I'm not trying to pull my own teeth :)
If I take the Tylenol before it gets too bad it helps for a bit. Not very long lasting for something I can only take every 6 hours!
Yeah I'm allergic to the 'cillins. The stuff they gave me makes me burp porta potty smell :P

Ok, then I'm not sure why they didn't give it to you then. I was able to take the vicodin every 4-6 hours (i was taking it every 4 of course) with 600mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours. Talk to the doc or the pharmacist. It helps a lot!!! It was the worst pain ever. Plus ibuorofen helps relieve inflammation.
