About getting your tubes tied? Do they put you to sleep? How bad does it hurt afterwards? I definitely an getting my.tubes tired this time but I'm so nervous about it! After Bella I was in pain just from my uterus contracting back to normal and that was with pain killers and this time I want to breastfeed ( which I heard makes you contract more) and Bella will only be 13 months and its my son's going to kindergarten.That's not counting my now 2 yr old that will be 3 when this baby is born.I'm just hoping im not in a world of pain with all these responsibilities I can't slack on.

They put my sister under. She has 6 kids and it only took a day or two to be back to herself although the pain lasted a while. We'd been talking about it too. Hers was laproscopic through her belly button, so no major scar (my mom has a csection like scar). If you get a section your dr will tie them then.

All my births have been natural too so I'm hoping my will be in the belly button too.It would suck too have a c section my last baby and also I have a pretty bad umbilical hernia that my doc said he can repair at the same time . All I keep thinking about is omg I have to deal with those horrible contractions afterwards AND heal from surgery. Lol but it MUST be done! Lol

Lol my first was a section and the contractions were awful. would they let you wait a month or so or are you really just wanting it done all at once?

Honestly I think if I wait I will end up blowing it off but I do have that option!

I believe they put you under. If it were me I would wait because of all the other going on. Breastfeeding def makes you contract more...4 to 5 days everytime you nurse. Good lluck love

I'd wait, I've had laproscopic surgery and it was painful and hard to care for a nb. Also, TL during. A cesarean is less likely to work, btw.

Birthspring- That's what I'm afraid of . Being in too much pain to where I can't properly take care of my nb and kids. I would wait but I almost feel like I wanna get all the pain out the way at once. Lol..I know sounds crazy but idk I have time to think about it so im glad I have you ladies opinions to take into consideration. Thanks

i am due in sept. with my 4th and i too am deciding best method. my dr. told me there is third option tubal occlusion they are plugs and can be done in the office as soon as 6 weeks after delivery. very high success rate too. good luck.

The problem with the plugs you put in the tubes is they can migrate into the uterus.

I'm also going to be getting mine done. My doc told me I can get it done as soon as 24 hours after I give birth. They will go through the belly button and I will be put to sleep. He says its a very quick easy and painless procedure. We will see. I'm due pretty soon here so I will let you know how it goes.

Birthspring - did you say a tubal doesnt work as well with a section?! I never heard that! Good to know!
