gestational diabetes help
« on: December 10, 2012, 04:05:52 pm »
So I was diagnosed last week with gestational diabetes and I'm so not used to this. I should be thankful I've never had to read a food label or watch my weight so i know I'm truly blessed. However, I'm 32w today and now this whole diabetes thing has flipped my eating habits upside down. I'm always hungry but it's never been so complicated. Every 3hrs I should eat, and of course now I'm either hungry in 2 hrs or not hungry til 4hrs. This is bothersome. I know the food I eat is for the good of my baby, I'm just venting. Thanks for reading

I take my test in a week and I'm really hoping I don't have it but if I do I'll have to figure something out. Its gonna be so hard to change the way I eat. Good luck ladies!

I was borderline, I tried eating better only to gain 6lbs in a week, started eating crap and was back to a lb a week, it's so hard I hear ya I could never survive being a diabetic. Good luck at least it's short term that's what I kept telling myself, ironically my highest readings were only after a small bowl of cereal and a piece of fruit for breakfast, but I could scarf down anything during the day and be fine :/

Babyglecksmom they told me not to have milk or fruit for breakfast, something about not breaking it down.  My numbers have been fine but like I said I swear I'm not full with the portions they're telling me to eat. I have another appointment today so wish me luck. Thanks ladies for reading my post in the first place. It sucks but it helps to know I'm not alone.
Kidsmom03- I'm sorry about your test but feel free to gripe anytime to me. It's definitely a change but as we know better for our babies
