Post partum shortness of breath/lung pain?

My daughter is five days old.  Last night I couldn't sleep because I couldn't breathe while laying down.  Not chest pain just could not get a deep breath.  I coughed half the night and woke up feeling like someone stabbed my left lung.  Going to see midwife today, but has anyone else had this problem?

Have them check your iron levels.. I bet that's what it is...without red blood cells your blood can't carry oxygen...good luck!

Def see midwife to find cause, if you have to cough again, try drawing your legs up to your chest, that should relieve some of the pain when coughing, hope ur daughters doing good, feel better

Thanks.  Saw midwife earlier.  She sent me to ER.  They did bloodwork, chest xray, and I'm waiting on ct scan.

Oh I hope everything is ok. Could be pneumonia.  I hope not, but its possible you caught it by being in the hosp. Let us know

I hope your alright i've had similar symptoms and they tested for blood clots, but it wasn't, it was my Gallbladder. Anyways I'll keep you in n my prayers
