Anything about selling a car?
We have the van we just bought and hubby is going to use his moms truck for a while since she doesn't drive it. Well, we have our car and we were wanting to sell it due to all the financial issues right now. But hubby's wanting to put $3000 on it but I think its worth more than that..
Its a 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora, it has 156,000 miles on it with no major problems. The only issue is the passenger mirror is gone from it getting knocked off in Walmart parking lot. We keep up on the car .. brakes get changed every summer, oil every four months, and had a mechanic look at the engine and stuff and he said everything's in great shape.
So, how much should we try to sell it for?
Oh and we have had it for three years and paid $11,000 for it.
I know nothing about selling, just don't want to get screwed over on this. It would help tremendously right now.

I would ask around 5000 for it. But still be willing to negotiate the price but I wouldn't go less than 3000.

Try looking online for that same car with similar mileage, try auto trader and stuff and see what the general going price is. You should be able to find a few for sale that you can compare to yours

U can go to kellybluebook.com and look up the value of it on there ... the will tell u how much its worth for trade in or private sales ... stuff like that

Have you looked on Blue Book? You enter in the milage and wear and tear for the make and model and thet give you the value.

Ya I just sold my 02 Oldsmobile Alero for 2,500. It sucks knowing how much you put into it an paid for it. Not many people are going to buy a car for 3 or 4 thousand that is an older car. Even if its in great shape. I would keep the car for a trade in. You can get 7,000 credit toward a kia. Or put it on every sellers ad out there an list as 3,500 obo.

Sounds like your husband has the right idea. Even in the best condition selling price is 3000. According to Kelly blue book.
