quick question..
« on: February 27, 2013, 07:13:23 pm »
So I am now 4 days PP and I have a couple questions.. 1) bubs had a tongue tie when born which made her graze my nipples (ouch) I have had it snipped now and just waiting for my nipples to heal.. is there anything I can use for relife? 2) I stopped bleeding like 1-2 days after, still discharging blood stained mucus but that's it... is this normal? My doc said I didn't bleed much during birth. I'm not complaining but I just hear women bleeding like a period for weeks and mines stooped already.
also I'm home now. It looks like my placenta was aging and stressing my little bubs out. I also tested positive for strep b during delivery and my temp spiked so she had a mild infection which cleared pretty quickly. Any babies from now on I will need antibiotics. All is good now!

My first I only bleed for a couple of days so don't stress I had low iron but nothing else my first period after (5mths later) was very heavy but was all good.
Grazed nipples you can try a nipple shield some paw paw ointment or lanolin may help. My first was tounge tied I never had it cut and feed him for 18 mths so my nipples ended up like leather lol but when it got bad the nipple shield was a life saver

Lanolin cream for your nips, it's also ok if baby gets it in her mouth so you don't have to clean it off either, I'm not sure on bleeding bc I bled awhile. Congratulations on doing so well :)

I react to lanolin but Gerber makes a big giant chapstick called "breast therapy" that was woooonderful. Also, if you can bear to be topless, air also helps healing. It's also ok for her to nurse without wiping it off, just a little bioinert slipperiness in the poop.
